Hi again Robert,
Good to have you w/us Carruthers. Ignore spelling - it's variable!!! -
Look to circumstances, as you seemingly already are. (There is at least one
such as you doing British royalty.)
Carruthers seems to have 'originated' in the North Country - as did my
W'ton line. There is a dynomite UK Gen database - Search site - A2A: Of
many, there is ONE UK search engine I wish to point out as the Best all
around:
A2A:
http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp * * * * *
Ignore the negative and just go up to: Search A2A - charge right
through - fantastic results, espec for early stuff!

Barry,
I am a new member.
I am an American living France. I am married to a wonderful French
mademoiselle. I am retired.
My father is a living Caruthers, but not of good health.
My grand father was John W. Caruthers, b. 5Jun1895, Wartrace, TN d.
31Jan1922. He was married to Lennie Mai Elkins b. 25may1895 d. 22Feb1959,
Wartrace, TN.
My father was too young to remember his father, his early death was do in
part from wounds incurred during the war.
My great grand father was Archibald Caruthers, b. Dec1861, Wartrace, TN d.
12Jan1960
This is as far as I can go back with absolute certainy. Of course, since I
started using
Ancestry.com, I have found possible ancestors going back to
Scotland. What makes it difficult are the different spellings of
Caruthers.
My dad historically talked of family members with these spellings:
CARUTHERS, CARRUTHERS, CARROTHERS, and CAROTHERS.
I am not new to creating genealogy histories. My main tree is the royal
family of France, which contains more than 30,000 individuals and grows
almost daily. I do this mostly as a means to learn the history of France
and
in turn most of Europe. I add blasons to most of the individuals in the
data
base.
