Sara, regarding your question about John Carruthers, I have a William and
Joanne Carruthers as his pts . They were born in Scotland abt 1676 and I
have John b- date abt 1697 . Now he could have been an uncle. And I'm
looking into information that I received from Bill Moore that Content was
John's 3rd wife and they had no children and that John"s Children were from
1st wife Elizabeth not sure who the 2nd wife was and if there were
children. And Content had a daughter from her first marriage.

Subject: John Carouthers - Bristol to Va. - 1680?
Date: Fri, 22 Apr 2005 07:57:59 -0400 (GMT-04:00)
I haven't yet been able to determine whether or not this has already been
asked... so maybe someone can help me.
Has anyone ruled out the possibility of the John Carouthers who came to
Virginia from Bristol in 1680 aboard the Bristol Merchant as the father or
uncle of the John Carruthers who ended up in Craven County, NC and married
Content Bangs?

I'm very new to researching this part of my family tree so thanks in advance
for any help!
