Bill Rice,
Have you participated in this dna Rice search? I'd like to hear more abt it
when you can. Apparently, the List determined there were at least 5 different
Rice dna Lines as a result of the Testing. Which Line/ 'Group', if any, is the
Rice md Carruthers Line? I believe it would be a different one than the:
"This Sarah Ann Rice you mentioned ["23 Sept 1831 estate"] appears to be
the
daughter of Sampson Rice and Elizabeth Furgeson" Line
discussed in your recent email, pasted below at the bottom.

Subject: [RICE-L] My Rice Research
I have participated in the Rice DNA project in a 12 marker test (#14746) which
puts me in Group 5 (William Rice, 1756 VA? - c1856 KY.) Some other Rice
researchers and I have been theorizing that this William is a possible brother
to the Abraham Hansford Rice mentioned above.
These last few paragraphs are speculation. We don't have anything that shows
a familiar link between these people, just documents showing coincidental
events in the same geographic places. At this point, our research is based on
several leaps of faith, but I've had to remove entire family trees from my
research after doing that kind of thing before. My last confirmed relationship
is that of Mitchell Hansford Rice to his children. I need his parents and
earlier.
Because there are several researchers that are trying to pin down this
Abraham Rice of Wales with his wife, Miss Hastings, and make a
connection,
I've established a mailing list specificly for the research of that
line. If you suspect (or better yet, have proof of) a descendency from
Abraham Rice of Wales, we encourange you to join and share your info.
To Join, send any message to rice-history-subscribe(a)paulrice.org. After
your subscription request is confirmed, you can then post to
rice-history(a)paulrice.org This list isn't intended to compete with or
replace the Rice-L or Rice-Southern-L lists, just to supplement with a
resource on this particular family tree.
I am looking forward to hearing from anyone and everyone about their Rice
research in these areas. Feel free to email me on or off this list with
your info.

"Make your website a Fantastic Website"
Greetings. I am sending this message to this list as an introduction
and
a
plea for help if anyone has any info, ideas, or suggestions that
would
help
me out.
I am currently researching the lines of Rice, Tucker, Isbell, Robinson,
LaFever, Hayslip, Carter, and Speed. My genealogy based website for my
research is located at
http://genealogy.paulrice.org where you are most
welcome to visit and view the tree itself, as well as take part in web
based discussion forums I have started for each of these lines.
Of interest to those here is my Rice family line, which, as much as I have
confirmed of it, is as follows...
Paul Allen Rice, 1/26/1964, Stuttgart, AR - present
Neal Edward Rice, 11/4/1926, Konawa, OK - 12/24/2002, Carlisle, AR
Howard Edward Rice, 11/17/1904, Grand Prairie, TX - 5/8/1977, Oklahoma
City, OK
Daniel Edward Rice, 12/18/1868, Moberly, MO - 11/30/41, Prairie Hill,
OK
Mitchell Hansford Rice, 11/2/1820 Wayne Co. KY - 7/27/1900, Moberly, MO
It is my belief that Mitchell Hansford Rice is a son of an Abraham
Hansford
Rice (ca 1765 VA - ca 1850 Missouri). That his mother is a Miss
Mitchell. And that he has a brother, Abraham Hastings Rice, and a sister
Sally Rice (wife of Elijah Terry).
It is a further belief that this Abraham Hansford Rice is a brother to
Elizabeth Rice (wife of Joshua Phipps) and son of Abraham Rice (ca 1745
Wales - ?? Virginia or Kentucky) and Miss Hastings (possibly of Wales).
If anyone has any info on these families, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks Barry. For some reason I cannot click on the
ftp.rootsweb.com address
you sent me and go online from my email but I will try to find it after I close
out my email. This Sarah Ann Rice you mentioned appears to be the daughter of
Sampson Rice and Elizabeth Furgeson. Sarah Ann Rice was born in Culpepper Co.
Va. on 27 May 1815 so she was only 16 years old when the court action took
place. I assume the court records of FOLDER 702 were in Culpepper Co. Va.
Thanks, I will look into it later. Regards, Bill Rice in Texas
