Hi Warren,
A couple points. Lyme Regis (& Dorset and Devon) had Dares in the 1400s,
including the Mayor of Lyme Regis, much in our Archives:

I dont know anyone who is certain, or even near so, of the B date of
Rocksolannah. 1706 - 1720 is a range that's been suggested.

The Dares were involved in the Quakers. Look it up in our Archives:

'Search' back in the 2000 yr period. They moved up north to get involved,
then I believe returned.

Hi Charlene,
Did you find anything out about Dare Quakers?
I'm a Dare and have found a Quaker connection from the time of the late
19thC. My Dare's came from the Lyme Regis/Bridport areas of Dorset and
Devon. I'd assumed we Dare's had married into a family of Quakers, (The
Dales from Yorkshire), but we may of course have already been practicing.
It'd be interesting to know if you've found out anything.
Cheers, Warren Dare
