Actually Ian, & all Carruthers-
The dna approach is ideal for all, espec 'isolated' lines - no
necessitity to locate possible Carruthers 'cousins,' - the dna does it
automatically for you. $200 and the answer comes email to you in weeks, and
an email to all your dna/blood cousins! (but no-one else). This is a
kick-start like no other. Scrape the inside of your mouth/ cheek, do a
confirming scrape next day, mail it in the provided packet, and, in a few
weeks, voila!, it is in your hands. This also sorts out non-family members.
Pls do fwd this msg to your 'niece in South Africa that is a doctor'
for her review.
Go to:
Only a dna comparison could / would sort out the Denmark Bangs, and
Zimbabwe contingent from 'our' Carruthers' UK? contingent AND the Denmark
contingent
from the UK blood stock. Pls do consult w/ your The dna people would need at
least one of each contingent to attempt to sort out the dna origins. If
interested, go to the
web page for a full discussion. The cost (can be paid by anyone) is abt $200
for each person tested. The reps of FTdna would explain the issues and
procedure. Either go straight to their Web page, or our FTdna rep would
explain. Anyone can pay/ contribute for a test. If, for ex, all of your
Zimbabwe relatives are of the same family, then ask all to contribute a bit
for one single test. No other test will bring anything like the absolute dna
finding of the lab test.
I imagine 'our' Carruthers are of 'your' dna - which is what we
will
discover by the test!

Morning Barry
From a cold Zimbabwe - Thanks I have been in touch with the B/R folk some
time ago the USD 200 fee is not on our top priority list at the mo, however
no doubt
we will get it done in due course - I have a niece in South Africa that is
a
doctor so hope to pull a few strings there.
I've no connections to Bangs that I know of, I sent my query to that list
in
case on the off chance someone else is following my line being an off
shoot.
Your Carruthers group seem to have the USA side nailed down, but postings
re
Scotland/Africa heritage are few and far between - All the same I'll keep
lurking
