Hello and Happy Easter to You All,
I received the address below to a web page showing 3 Carruth-Lankford
marriages from on of our cousins who is also connected to the Caldwell family.

here: My Caldwell Family</A>

This information may be useful to someone in our family group searching the
Alexander -1 (immigrating ancestor), Robert -2, James -3 lines. Three of
James Carruth and Mary Logan's children are shown here. Mary Carruth,
Catherine Carruth, and Leeroy Carruth are shown here with all three marrying
Lankford siblings, sons and daughter of Nathan Lankford and Meron Caldwell.
Nathan Lankford was also a witness to an indenture between James Logan
Carruth (Mary and Catherine's brother) and Robert Carruth (their
grandfather). With Leeroy marrying in to this same Lankford family in the
same generation as Mary and Catherine's spouses, I'm wondering what his
relationship could possibly be to them (brother perhaps or first cousin).
Nathan Lankford witnessed Leeroy's marriage to Sibby Lankford. Also, Mrs.
Lela Grant Carruth recorded on page 114 of, "From Whence Ye Came," that Sibby
may have been a sister to Ephraim Carruth's wife, Susannah. This marriage is
not recorded on the web page listed above, but again this leads to the
question of the closeness of the relationship between Leeroy, Ephraim, Mary,
and Catherine Carruth (brothers and sisters or first cousins).
If the above are brothers and sisters, could Aspacio Carruth also be a
brother to them. Could the three Carruth boys here possibly be from a prior
marriage for James before his marriage to Mary Logan. If James was born
between 1770 and 1775 as recorded in the above mentioned book and did not
marry Mary Logan until 1802 as recorded in the above book, this could be so.
Any comments??
Best Wishes,
Harvey Carrouth
