Harvey, I just posted a message on the BB. Obviously, the S.D. Carrouth
listed is my Sanders Carruth. Probably the reason for not finding anything
on him was the different spelling of the name.
It also makes sense that no other sons are listed in the census, since they
would have been in California at the time....

Found some information to include with other information concerning Leeroy
Carruth and who his father could possibly be through consideration of a
naming pattern. We all know his grandfather was Robert and his
great-grandfather was Alexander (who immigrated from Antrim County,
Ireland, along with his brothers Walter and Adam).
Also, we know that Leeroy went to Forsyth County, Ga., and he is found on
the 1850 Census there with his wife Sibey (actually listed "Sibby" and
their last name is listed as "Carouth" on the Census).
The information I want to include here is for a possible later tie in with
a naming pattern of use with Leeroy and possibly Aspacio and Ephraim
Carruth. The information is that the following are also found in Forsyth
County, Ga., on the 1850 Census:
S. D. Carouth, 30, M., born in NC
Mary, 26, F, born in SC
James A, 7, M, Born in Ga.
Mary (looks like G.), 5, F, born in Ga.
Aaron D., 3, M, born in Ga.
Leroy, S., 3, M, born in Ga.
another child shown as 6 months old, F., also born in Ga., name looks like
Mary A.
It is mentioned in Lela Grant Carruth's book From Whence Ye Came, that
Leeroy had no known children. The above S. D. Carouth is about the right
age to of been able to be Leeroy's son. Does anyone else know who he could
be other than being Leeroy's son?
One other thing I want to include is that Ephraim's first child listed in
"From Whence Ye Came" is named James.
