CAN ANYONE ADD ANY MORE DETAIL TO MY CARROLL ANCESTORS STORY ???
My Maternal Great Great Great Grand Parents were Eugene CARROLL who married
Eliza O'NEILL
and Christopher MONAGHAN who married Bridget GRIMES. They were all born in the
County of
Louth IRELAND.
Eugene Carroll was a miner, and married Eliza O'Neil somewhere between 1825 &
1835. Among
their children was my Great Great Great Grandfather James Carroll born, 1835.
Christopher Monaghan, a blacksmith by trade, married my Great Great Great
Grandmother Bridget
Grimes. My Great Great Grandmother Mary Monaghan, born 1835 was a product of
this union.
James married Mary MONAGHAN in 1855. They came to Australia almost immediately
and landed in
Brisbane. They moved to Ipswich where James found work in the coal mines which
at the time
were among the largest in Australia, then as a Ganger on the Railways. Later
he got together
a Bullock Team and became a Bullocky working in the freight and timber
industry.
They had a total of 10 children, Bridget born in 1856, Katherine on 14th
September 1858,
James in 1860, Ann on 4th October 1862, Mary in 1866, Ellen in 1868 and my
Great Grandmother
Margaret Jane in 1870, Jane in 1872 and the baby, John in 1874. There was
another boy born
between Ann and Mary, around 1864 but died at a young age. Records show that
there was a boy
and a girl born and died in the six year period, between when Mary was born in
1866 and
Margaret Jane CARROLL birth in 1870.
My Great Grandmother Margaret CARROLL Jane married John James GRACE in Ipswich
on the 14th of
October 1895. They had had my Grandmother Agnes Mary GRACE a month earlier on
the 18th of
September 1895. They had another girl Sarah in 1896. Don't have any record of
a death of John
James Grace but he either died or they divorced because on the 16th January
1901 Margaret
married Arthur CHRISTIE in Ipswich Queensland. They had one child, a son
Arthur James
CHRISTIE born on the 25th April 1904.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone who may have common ancestors or have
any information
about my ancestor's families still living in Ireland in particular or anywhere
else.

CAUSE OF DEATH?
The Smith's were proud of their family tradition. Their ancestors had come
to America on the Mayflower. Their line had included Senators and Wall
Street wizards.
Now they decided to compile a family history, a legacy for the children.
They hired a fine author. Only one problem arose----how to handle that
great-uncle who was executed in the electric chair.
The author said he could handle that chapter of history tactfully.
The book appeared. It said that "Great-uncle George occupied a chair of
applied electronics at an important government institution, was attached to
his position by the strongest of ties and his death came as a real shock."
