Joe, Give it a rest...
If I sent a letter to all Carroll researchers soliciting potential
clients in my new web building venture... Or trying to sell a new CD
.... THAT is Spam.
We are listed as Carroll Researchers because we are all interested in
contacting other potential COUSINS....
Therefore, a newletter is a great idea. And reasonably priced for the
contacts it generates.
Sincerely, Evelyn Carroll

Joe, I really don't consider this spam. If the subject was something
not directly germane to the
focus of the list, I would so consider it and take action as
appropriate. However, such a
newsletter is of potential interest to everyone on the list. That, by
the way, is not meant to be
an endorsement of the publication.
Such publications are around and available for many surnames and are
given some publicity
on many of the surname lists. Wilma Ingersoll, for example, has edited
the Phillips Family
Finder for some years and has performed a valuable service for Phillips
researchers.
Be assured, I am sensitive to spamming, almost paranoid in fact. I went
through the Maiser
debacle with the Phillips List and have no qualms about taking action on
anything that might
disturb our list.
