Tonight's topic for my friends in the mail lists is not so much
genealogy as it is heredity. My son suffers from an extremely rare skin
condition called Hydroa Vacciniforme. It is a photosensitivity disorder.
What that means is that it is caused by exposure to the sun. He forms
blisters all over his exposed skin.
The reason that I'm boring all of you with the details is because it is
a genetic disease. However not one of our parents/ grand parents/ great
grand parents or any of their siblings has ever had any similar
problems. Yet it must have come from someone in our family somewhere.
We are therefore mystified as to where it came from. So, I'm sending
this letter out to the mailing lists of my family names in hopes that
someone out there somewhere can shed some light on this subject.
I have run my family names through the list a couple of times with no
luck. So maybe if I reach out geographically, someone will connect.
These are the geographical locations of my ancestors:
North Carolina>Alabama>Tennessee> Missouri>Oklahoma
Thank you all very much for your time and attention. I wish you all a
good weekend.
Julie
