John CARROLL, b. 08 Oct 1790, in Borrosoleigh, Parish of Drum, Co. Tipperary.
His parents: William & Elizabeth (COOK) CARROLL. Grandparents: Samuel &
Hannah (LLOYD) CARROLL. Other children: Martin, Samuel, Richard, Thomas,
William, Elizabeth who m. BERRY or BARRY, & Catherine who m. John BURKE. John
left Ireland on 24 May 1814 to St. John, Newfoundland to his uncle Richard
COOK. He arrived at Mount Desert Island, ME. in the summer of 1821 & m.
Rachel Foster LURVEY on 25 Dec 1822. Searching for info on John's siblings'
descendants. We have info on his descendants. John was my gggrandfather.
William LAWLER, b. 1817 in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, son of James & Judith
(FARRELL) LAWLER. William left Ireland with his sister, Mary, in 1833 or 34
to Halifax, NS. Mary m. 1st NOONAN & 2d MULLEN. William was a boot/shoe
maker and arrived at Mount Desert Island, ME. to work at his trade. He. m.
Elizabeth Cook CARROLL ON 30 Aug 1846 at Somesville, ME. William was my
ggrandfather. Searching for his siblings' descendants.
Bernard DUFFY, b. 02 May 1824, d. 04 Sep 1891 in Bangor, ME. m. Catherine
BROWN on 24 Oct 1846. Catherine b. 29 Jun 1827, d. 26 Jun 1907 in Bangor,
ME. Believe both families to be Irish but don't know either's parent's
names
or when arrived in Bangor or where born. Would appreciate any info. Bernard
& Catherine were ggrandparents on the other side of my family.
