He is named in the obituary notice of Jarusha Ann Bailey; [187] identified
in the Alexander Hugh Carroll family photograph;[185]
INCORPORATION:
When Jamestown was incorporated in May 1873, he was one of the petitioners
and was appointed as trustee.[308]
CENSUS:
There were about twenty Carrol heads of household in Barry Co., MO and
about 30 Spencer heads of household, including H.A. Spencer, in the 1840 US
Census.[321] There was also a Hugh Carrol listed in the 1840 and 1850
census records for Barry and McDonald counties in Missouri. These were
neighboring counties in southwest Missouri.[321] It is unlikely that this
was Hugh Alexander Carroll.[320]
