Hi Carroll Relative, Your message is the first I have received that references David and
Bridget (Woods) Carroll among the several I have received, I hope it is not the last.
David and Bridget have been most difficult to trace by yours truly. However, the names of
David, Stephen, and Thomas, whom I assume are sons of David and Bridget, do not appear in
my research. I have uncovered the names of Edward,b.circa 1838 Patrick, b. circa 1840
James F. (my great-grandfather,b.1843, in Lowell), Mary,b.? and John, b.1848.I have not
heard the other names you mention, except my deceased father Thomas, Sr. mentioned his
grandfather, James F. and two of his brothers, "Uncle Tom and Uncle Ned,an Irish
nickname for Edward) were in the Civil War and one of them was shot in the head at
Gettysburg and lived. I have a few certified certificates from Lowell citing David and
Bridget as their parents. I am impressed with you findingyears of birth and death on David
and Bridget. Have you any clues!
on places and days of birth? I suspected David was burried at St. Pat's, Lowell yet
I could not locate either one of them on the cemetery's rolls. Might you share their
burial location with me please.
I shall soon be running out of space here. I am so pleased you cared to respond to my
inquiry. I am trying to trace the Carrolls back to Ireland. And I believed they had a
brief stay in Atlantic Canada, possibly PE Island. Please feel free to contact me. I have
lived in Wyoming for 30 years but grew-up in Eastern Mass. I am quite willing to share any
information that I possess. I hope you will respond as I am so happy to have received a
reply. Tom
