Hi Nicole,
I think all of us with an interest in the surname that sounds like Carroll should consider
ANY
spelling. If you read the related web pages with the following site, you will see many
spellings of
what was at one time "Chearbhaill." I have no connection to this site and
cannot verify the
material there.
http://www.clancian-carroll.com/
It seems to me that many EARLY settlers in the colonies with the CARROLL spelling were
Catholic,
and many with the CARRELL spelling were Protestant. Have others noticed this?
Lura

Subject: [CARROLL] CARRAILL
| Hi
|
| Does anyone have any information on or are related to CARRAILL's?? Please
| use all the variations of possible spelling.
|
| It is possible some of these spellings may include CARRELL or CARGILL.
|
| More specifically ROBERT CARRAILL , he married Alison BROWNHILL and came to
| Australia around 1851 on "Wellington". They had 5 children, and came from
| Haddington - I think - East Lothian, Scotland.
|
| If anyone has any information and can help me that would be great, or if you
| are related that's even better. If I can help anyone as well just let me
| know.
|
|
| Thanks for your help
