Did not do work on Benjamin Welch, one was listed in will of Sylvester, assuming Benjamin
picked up some of his fathers speculation land in Harrison. There were two listed in 1820.
1830 pegs one being born between 1790-1800, much too late to be son of Sylvester/Jemima.
The other assume was son.
Rather Stuck on William Carroll who married Lucinda Mott, daughter of Mary Welsh. Not
sure if he is not unborn son of Few theories kicking around:
a)William was orphan of Sanford Carroll and Elizabeth Bartlett and missed the will when he
died (William had sons name Sanford Bartlett Carroll that he lived with in Ritchie at end
of his life. Really odd to name a childe Sanford Bartlett Carroll without having some
type of a connection to either Sanford or to the Bartlett family. Would he have grown up
with Ashby, or lived with perhaps one of the other Bartlett/Carroll clans in this
senario.
b)William Porter Carroll and Mary Hughes Porter, think have 2, possibly a 3rd decendant
through tithables, just not William, but his b-date falls in between potential siblings.
Is there a will for William Porter Carroll in Loudoun, he seems to be only one that hung
around?
Looking at Jesse Carroll (b abt 1775), Enoch Carroll (b abt 1780), Elias K. Porter
(1785-1862). Elias found out in Grayson, Kentucky, and not listed in tithables. His
parents are listed as William Porter and Ann Hughes Porter. To much of a coincidence in
names to overlook. Might be wrong, and should probably dig deeper.
c)William came up through Hampshire/Fredrick Viginia with Lucinda Mott?
d)William came through Fauquier/Loudoun Virginia?
Need to probably do some digging in Caroe, Ritchie, Virginia for William Carroll.
