That would be Absalom Carroll Jr. that was born abt. 1760 in Colleton Dist., SC. I had
been given the death date of abt. 1829 in Jones Co. MS, which I've had no way of
checking. There's a book called "The Heritage of Our Children" by R.
Francis Carroll pub. in 1981 that has some information about Absalom Sr. and Jr....not a
lot, but some. See if your library or local Family History Center can get a copy on loan
or get the microfilm of the book.
If the DAR can locate his burial place, many of us would love to know!
This is what I had figured out about the 1830 census:
1830 Jones Co., MS
(Absalom Carroll Jr. supposedly died in 1829)
Elinor Robinson Carroll(widow of Absalom Carroll Jr.)
1 male under 5…Absalom Carroll III age 2
1 male 5-10…James Allen Carroll age 9
1 male 10-15…Moses Carroll age 15
2 males 20-30…John Edward Carroll age 17 (married 1834)
…Benjamin Franklin Carroll age 21 (married 1833)
1 female 5-10…Martha Ann Carroll age 7
1 female 10-15…Sarah Carroll age 12
1 female 20-30…unknown-(found the other 3 daughters (Susannah, Mary, and Harriett with
their husbands)
1 female 40-50…Elinor Robinson Carroll age abt. 45-50
I'd welcome anymore comments about this census!
My lineage to Absalom Jr. is through his son Benjamin Franklin Carroll who married Huldah
Harper.
