John Douglas Carroll (1808-1885) married 1st Rachel Rennick Jan 1828 Hardeman CO, TN;
married 2nd Rachel McGill Feb 1831 Amite MS; married 3rd Julia B Stedman Oct 1837 Adams
CO, MS,
so it is very doubtful that the John D Carroll marrying in 1833 Georgia is the John
Douglas Carroll, son of Richmond Carroll (1765-1868).

I know it has been a long time since you wrote your message offering information on the
Richmond Carroll family, but I hope you're still keeping up with this message board.
I also hope you're referring to the Richmond who married Sarah Driver. I understand
they had a son named John D. Carroll. I'm trying to find out for sure if John D.'s
first wife could have been Emeline Humphrey. I have the following info: Greene Co., GA,
Marriage Records:
Carroll, John D. married Humphrey, Emeline on 12 Aug 1833 in Greene County, Georgia
In 1850 they were in Hancock Co., GA, and among other children had a 12 yr. old Sarah. She
was the right age to be the Sarah Carroll who married George Washington Denton in Paulding
Co., GA, in 1855. I'm trying to prove or disprove that these two Sarahs are the same
person.
I'll welcome any help or suggestions.
By the way, where are your Wilsons from? My maiden name is Wilson. Wilsons from McMinn
Co., TN, and Hamilton Co., TN. Actually my gt.gt.grandfather was Richard Wilson who lived
in Catoosa Co., GA, just before he died.
