I do not want to start a discussion of the current virus
problem on our list, there are more appropriate forums.
There are, however, a couple of things I should have said
earlier and having said them will get back to Carroll
genealogy.
First, I routinely delete any message with an attachment
unless I have been informed beforehand by the sender
that it is coming.
Second, there is a good argument for sending our
genealogy information to other researchers THROUGH
the list, since rootsweb is most effective at filtering out
troublesome material.
Third, I do not unsubscribe those who I find with an
infected machine for any reason other than to prevent
messages from the List being used as the vehicle to carry
the virus to other members with whom they might have
communicated.
Enough said, back to our genealogy.
