Jan,
Thank you for sharing the information you found amongst the vital
records in NH, specifically: "7-8-1896: Maurice Carroll, 8 months old,
son of David Carroll and Helen Maher d. in Franklin, NH; born in
Franklin; buried in Holy Cross Cemetery." Maurice appears to be the son
of my great grandmother's brother David Carroll and his wife Mary Ellen
Maher. They lived in Franklin and had two sons that survived to
adulthood, David and Michael. I didn't know about Maurice until I
received your email.
On my recent trip to New England, I learned from her death record that
my great grandmother, Maggie or Margret of Margaret Carroll (1861-1945),
is that daughter of Johanna Sullivan and Michael Carroll. As I
recollect, I sent you an email on this. Family legend is that Maggie
was the oldest of 13 children, including David of Franklin NH, Peter of
Pawtucket RI, and Hannah of Franklin NH.
I am hoping to learn more about this branch of my family.
