Subject: Request help in locating my Ontario, Canada Carroll's
I would greatly appreciate any help or recommendations that anyone
could
offer me in respect to finding out more about my Ontario, Canada Carroll
Line.I have really hit the brick wall relative to making any progress on
this
branch of my family History.
My Uncle Charles Napoleon Carroll was the son of Charles C. and Mary Ann
Barr
Carroll, Charles C. was born in Ontario about 1842. His father and
mother
were
born in Ontario and trying to scale this brick wall is my objective at
this
time.
Charles C. Carroll came downto New York abt. 1861,we believe to enlist in
one
of the New York Regiments to serve in our Civil War.He married Mary
Ann
Barr
at St Titus Church, Titusville, Crawford, Co., PA. on Nov. 19, 1865.
The firs U.S. Census that I have found him and his family listed on was
the
1870 Census of Crawford Co. PA.,however, on that census, he was
listed as
Charles
" Carl " which I assume was a French version of the surname " Carroll
"
I would greatly appreciate hearing from any Carroll researcher that has
researched in Ontario, Canada on recommedations? help on the best way to
proceed.
Thank you very much...Kenneth L. McIntyre, Victorville,CA.
