This may not help at all, but if you are like me you must follow
every possible lead. Many Carroll/Carrell families migrated from
NC to GA.
I just noticed a George Carrell and William Carell who took an
Oath of Allegiance to North Carolina sometime between 1774-1804.
This is on the same page with several other things related to
Bute County, NC. I don't remember right now how Bute County was
divided up into other counties. Finding the name George might
indicated a possible connection.
