Has anyone visited the Presbyterian Historical Society in Philadelphia?
My 93 year old grandmother believes there MAY be a genealogy about our
Carroll family line. My ggg grandfather was cousin to Charles Carroll
of Carrollton. That means their fathers were brothers. Can't find the
connection yet. If anyone lives in Philly it might be worth a trip. I
would be glad to give you the names that may be the link many of us are
looking for.
WILLIAM CARROLL & MARE LYNN
WILLIAM CARROLL b: in Born in Ireland - came to US before age 20 -
William was a farmer and records state that that he was one of
the earliest settlers of the region. Newspaper articles state that
William was cousin to Charles Carroll of Carrollton. William and
May had 12 children. The only child I have found is Daniel Lynn
Carroll.

Children of William and Mary: (They had 11 or 12 children. I can
only find one).
DANIEL LYNN CARROLL b: May 10, 1797 in Fayette County, PA d:
November 23, 1851 in Philadelphia, PA - Daniel
was a Presbyterian clergyman - Rev. Dr. Daniel Lynn Carroll
From the Lychfield, Conn. newspaper, Enquirer, April 20,1905: "At
the age of twenty he (Daniel Lynn) united with the
Presbyterian church of Uniontown, Penn., under the care of Rev. William
Wylis. His father, meeting with pecuniary
reverses about this time, he relinquished his intention of preparation
for college, and besides laboring on the farm,
superintended a department in an iron foundry, giving all his earnings
into the common household stock. At twenty-one he
taught school for a year and a half,".. . Daniel attended Jefferson
College and Princeton Theological Seminary.

his name, was a Presbyterian clergyman. He may have had a relatove who
moved to Colorado in the mid 1800s.
