After 18 years of searching the origin in Cork of my
Carrolls, I am off to Ireland next April to see what I
can find.
Does anyone recognize any of this?
There were seven brothers born in the 1830s-1840s?. Parents were Daniel &
Ann/Catherine Rosley. Timothy, Daniel, Michael, Thomas, John and James. They all came to
Boston in the late 1850s.John and James left Boston for CA. Thomas disappeared. Because
Rosley is unusual I was able to narrow down the area to
Kippagh/Caheragh/Lettergorman/Kildee/
Kilmeen area in Cork. The parish records are only in Dublin and the parish priests that
have written back found nothing. My brother's YDNA kit number is 126432. Some of the
names that pop repeatedly as sponsors or witnesses are McGuerty, Hurley, Mahoney and
Halloran.
