Do you know of any descendants of these Carroll's (of Litterluna, of
Lisheenboy, of Constitution, the Immigrant, etc) that may have ended up in the Hardin/
Grayson Co., KY area? Also, any connection to Co. Tipperary, Ireland?
My g-grandfather was William Carroll of Co. Tipperary, Ireland; b. 1837-1846;
d. 1889, Cannelton, Perry Co., IN, buried St. Michael's Catholic Cem.,
Cannelton; married, Anna Minter/ Minton around 1870. Anna was from Hardin Co., KY,
b. 1853, Hardin/ Grayson Co., KY. William and Anna had six children: James,
1874-bef 1900; Maggie, 1876-1958; Joseph, 1878-aft 1900; Anna (my
grandmother), 1886-1952; Patrick, 1889-aft 1927; one unknown child. James was
christened Dec. 1874 at St. Clare Church, Hardin Co., KY. I have not found William
Carroll in any census. At the very least, he, Anna and at least two children,
maybe four, should be in the 1880 census but I have not been able to locate
them. I have found Anna (Minton) Carroll in 1860 Hardin, 1900, 1910 and 1930
Perry Co., IN.
After reading your discussion on Carroll family history, I guess I should not
be surprised that I am having difficulty.
Thanks for any advice.
Jane
