If You Want Help - Include information in your subject lines that will draw the attention
of those who can give you the help you need.
Like so many others, I receive automatic Message Board Alerts via email, anytime someone
posts a message in a Board that's of interest. I quickly look through the list reading
the Subject Lines for something to catch my attention.
If all you include in your subject line is a name, such as "Looking for John
Carroll" or "Need help with James Carroll," I'm not going to give it
any thought, at all.
Please include a Year, County and State or a Range of Years and a Region. Such as
"Need help with James Carroll 1850s in Abbeville Co., SC"
Take the advise found in "For tips on creating a great post, visit the Board
FAQ."
"First, choose a subject line that is brief, but descriptive. Include information
such as first name, last name (surname), some applicable dates, and other details.
Subjects that say only "Need Help" or that only state a location or surname (for
instance, using only the subject "Smith" when posting to the Smith board) should
be avoided."
Think a Little !!!
