Hi...A little late finding your note on Dempsey. Yes, there is no doubt that Daniel was
his father. Have several references. Daniel supposedly died around 1713, but I am told
that people could get reports on their holdings (as in wills) in those days even for tax
purposes. I do not believe Daniel died in 1713....He appeared in Maryland signing a will
for Thomas Stockett in 1732; his daughter Hannah was married in 1721;and Hannah, his son
Daniel and a Mary Porter were all baptized at St. Anne's in Md. on that date (or
thereabouts. (1713.. I think he had a son Daniel by a first marriage; his wife evidently
died....and he left Md. for Va. where he appears in St. Peter's Church in Kent. I
believe he went back to Ireland and died there in 1735. Bro. Ambrose Moorman wrote a
booklet about the family and says as much
It is in the Library of Congress, so I am told.. I have a copy anyway...from Nancy
