Joe, I am certainly no accomplished researcher, however, several years ago when I was
tracing a marriage in Alabama, I found out the county where my ancestor lived and then I
wrote to the "Clerk of Court" or Probate Court Clerk to ask if they had such a
record. I offered to pay for the record. I was so pleased when the clerk found the
marriage record and made copies of everything she could find in their records. She never
asked for a fee although I would have been glad to pay for the service.
I don't have a Carroll in Mississippi to my knowledge; my Carrolls came from NC,
through GA and some into TX.
Good luck with your search!

Married Jan 1817 in Ouachita Parish, La. I would very much like to find his marriage
record or a family bible.
He married Susannah Martin and his parents were John Carroll and Mary Scoggins. John, the
elder, died in Adams Co.,Miss
in 1810 and Mary remarried a Wright . Any help on this line would be most appreciated.
