WE have the census in the USA. Also the LDS (Mormon Church) may have libraries in cities
in France. They are a treasure trove of genealogy material. The volunteers are most
helpful.
It maybe if you have access t o
Ancestry.com you may find the young soldier's family
in the 1930 census.
We also have
Genforum.com where you can post queries. You can do it by surname, or by
the state, and that might generate interest in helping you to locate members of his
family. I did not save your post so I don't know recall his information or I would do
some checking for you. Best of luck in your quest.
