Hi my name is Camille Vauclin. I'm eighteen years old and I live in Normandy, France.
I am a member of an association which called "Les Fleurs de la Mémoire". Since
last year the association have assigned to me the Pfc John M Carroll's grave. I have
the duty to take care of his grave all my life. I visit his grave to put flowers several a
year. John was born on 12th June 1923 in Philadelphia. His parents were Raymond Carroll
(Death : 2nd October 1942) and Elsie Carroll. John has a lot of brothers : Raymond Junior,
Robert, Edward, James and Richard. His father has a brother too : Franck Carroll. John and
his family has Irish origins. John was single and catholic. He worked in a Factory. John
was enlisted on 15th February 1943 in Philadephia. He was in the 30th Inf DI, 119th Inf
Regiment, 1st BN and in Charlie company. John was MIA on 17th July 1944 and he was KIA on
18th July 1944 in Normandy France (area : Pont Hebert). I would like to find more
information about him, a phot!
o of him and to contact his family. It is very important for me and my family to put a
face on his name and to say we don't forget him. Please contact me if you have
something....
