Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I about British history will be able to give more
information about what the following article means for us, but I think it looks fantastic!
The URL below goes to an article in today's "BBC News" telling of a new
unified way being developed to search for digitized British history for 1500-1900.
According to the article,
"Searching for sources on British history is about to get easier as work begins on
creating a "sophisticated Google" for historical databases."

What I don't know is how inclusive this will be. Will it include Wales? Scotland?
Northern Ireland? or perhaps even Ireland? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
One portion of the database is due to be available this month. Let's watch for it and
see who can find CARROLL or CARRELL, etc. names in that history and share them with all of
us. I think a lot of Irish folks migrated into England in the early 1700's and also
around 1850 in search of work. We might find them temporarily there, but often when that
happened young people remained behind to marry and rear families.
Happy Spring everyone....
