First, I would like to say Hello and then point out a few things.
You might begin by looking at the McCarrolls as it seems that your Carroll
came from the Enniskillen area of Fermanagh, which is next door to a large
population of Carrolls and McCarrolls from the southern reaches of County
Tyrone. The reason that I point out that the McCarrolls are the sept that
you may be looking at is to differentiate between the O'Carrolls (those are
the ones from the south, and they are usually thought to be the Carrolls)
and McCarrolls. Both of these septs have dropped the Mc and O largely from
their name as they went to the colonies. Actually, my father's folks were
McCarrolls (from Corkhill, County Tyrone) and my mother had a Carroll in her
background from Cork.)
Next, I would think that you should be on the lists of Fermanagh and Tyrone
because they are rather active on those surnames.
And finally, I would join the RootsChat sites and post your query there.
Good Luck

I am looking for any information on my great-great-grandparents, Patrick
Carroll and Elizabeth Irwin Carroll.
I know little else but that they were living in Enniskillen, Ireland when my
great-grandmother, Mary Ann Carroll, emigrated at age 18 to Ontario, Canada
to find a husband. The story that was passed down was that her parents
remained in Ireland, and she traveled with other unknown family members.
She married William Frederick Beacom and settled in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
Her parents names were listed on her marriage certificate, and the only
photos we have of her parents indicate that the portraits were taken in
Enniskillen, Ireland.
Any help would be appreciated as all research on this part of our family
line has been a complete dead end so far.
