Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

This message is for all of you who trace your lineage back to Orange County, NC, and believe Benjamin b 1753 and Stephen b 1733 somewhere in Ireland are your ancestors.
Has any man in this lineage taken the DNA test? There is an established haplotype at Family Tree DNA for one family line from Orange County, NC, because a few men have taken the test and matched each other.
My interest is to find other Carrolls who match those ten households in Sampson and Duplin Counties in 1790. I think their families probably also came into Wilmington, and might be from one of the "brothers" Faye mentioned. Our matching DNA profiles are shown in orange across the middle of the chart at

Please consider adding more DNA to the database. I think this may be the best way to organize these hardworking Carrolls who didn't take time to record genealogy in a Bible or didn't get into trouble to have court records.
