Hi! Kevin,
This is another (Sr) Joanne from Dubuque. Have you dropped me from your list? Haven't heard from you in ages. How are you doing with the Carrolls - Michael and Bridget's families? Also any more connection with Bishop Carrol, Martin Carroll and mine? How are all your family? Let me hear from you.
Sr Joanne

Dates? Places? I'm looking for a James Carroll b about 1830-1840 in Cork and came to Boston in the 1850s with several brothers--Daniel, Timothy & Michael and probably more. James may have 'gone west'. One brother went to CA but came back. Did James stay?

I am trying to find my maternal grandmother's mother, but I'm not having any luck. My maternal grandmother was Hazel Evangeline Householder Nations (b. 1904, Missouri), and her mother was Cora Carroll Householder. Cora Carroll, according to what I've found, was born in 1875 in Kansas, died in 1950, and is buried in Shawnee Center Cemetery in Kansas. I have not been able to locate the names of Cora's parents, although her father "? Carroll" was from Ireland, and her mother "? Carroll" was from Ohio, according to census records. I am stuck tracing that line back until I can come up with this information. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Jan,
My Carrolls are also from the Clonmel area. Patrick Carroll and Alice(Neville)Carroll, who were farmers in the Clonmel area had 11 children baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic church of Powerstown, between 1815 and 1835. They were: John,Patrick, Mary, Anthony, Denis, Philip, Michael,John,Ann, James and Richard. 5 of the children emigrated to the US settling in Wisconsin, Anthony, being my ggrandfather. I have not been able to find any info on the other 5, if they stayed in Ireland or died during the famine. Does any of this sound familiar? Carol Sherer

Did I just look right over that word CARROLL in that list available or did the surnames listed change?
Anyway, thank you for posting the info and answering my question. Do you know a date for this information? Does this come from a current census or tax records? Or was it from some time in the past?
The pink areas are very interesting!! About what many of us suspected.

Thanks. I would appreciate that.
I have another Irish ancestor that ties into this CARROLL line - George GAYNOR. Some have his birthplace as Co. Longford. I have no proof of that, but census data from 1860, 1870 & 1880 Hancock Co., KY has his birthplace as Ireland. I have no information about when he immigrated, but he was here by Nov 1853, when he married Eleanor TERRILL in Hancock Co., KY. George's parents may have been John GAYNOR and Mary QUINN.
George GAYNOR's daughter, Ella Catherine, married Edward Harris GIBBS, Aug. 1882 in Hancock Co., KY. Edward & Ella (Gaynor) GIBBS' son, George T. GIBBS, married William & Anna (Minton) CARROLL'S daughter, Anna, May 1906 in Perry Co., IN. George & Anna (Carroll) GIBBS were my grandparents.
Hancock Co., KY and Perry Co., IN are across from each other on the Ohio River.
Jane
