Hello, Wilma...
In your researches, did you come across any 17th or 18th century
Carrolls of BALLYCRENODE, a townland about three miles SE of Nenagh, Co.
Tipperary? A monument to William Carroll of Ballycrenode, Gentleman, who
died 19 February 1706, is in Kilkeary cemetery nearby. My ancestors, I
believe they were also ancestors of the emigrant Daniel Carroll of Upper
Marlboro (Prince George's County MD)(1696-1751), son of Kean Carroll,
son of Daniel Carroll of Ballycrenode, and father of Daniel (1730-1796)
the signer of the Constitution and John (1736-1815) the first US
Catholic archbishop (Encyclopedia of the Irish in America, Notre Dame,
1999).

I was intrigued by your e-mail mentioning that you have a copy of the
genealogy of Daniel Carroll, the Settler and father of Charles Carroll
of
Carrollton. I descend from Anthony Carroll, brother of the Settler who
immigrated into Maryland. Daniel was well educated and chose to leave
Ireland. Anthony's life was not as easy. He struggled to provide for his
family, sending a good number of them to their uncle in the United
States. I
have traveled to Ireland several times, researching at the National
Library,
Archives and etc. I was also working with a local historian named Patty
Heaney but Anthony's son Michael remains somewhat elusive. By the
process of
elimination Michael appears to be my link but, of course, I need
concrete
documentation.
If you are willing to share your genealogical information I would be
most
grateful.
