Pat - Thanks very much for this post - I descend from this CARROLL line, and my BARTLETTs are very intertwined with this particular family:
Jemima CARROLL m c1753 Sylvester WELCH (who lived in nearby Fauquier Co, VA for a while before moving to Hampshire Co, VA where he died in 1810. Their son Benjamin WELCH b1775 m 1797 Mary BARTLETT; and daughter Elizabeth WELCH b 1777 m 1797 James FLEMING (whose daughter Sarah b 1809 m 1827 John BARTLETT [my ancestors] - John was ggson of Thomas BARTLETT c1730, whom we'll see shortly]
Sanford CARROLL c1742-1777 m 1771 Fauquier Co, VA Elizabeth BARTLETT, daughter of Thomas c1730. After Sanford died, Elizabeth CARROLL lived in Fauquier Co, VA for a while with 3 small CARROLL children, and then m Thomas ASBERRY and went to Harrison Co, VA
Sarah CARROLL m 1777 Fauquier Co, VA Thomas BARTLETT Sr c1730-1806 [father of Elizabeth and Benjamin who thus became his sister and brother in law]. This was second marriage for Thomas who already had 10 children; he and Sarah had 5 more children in Fauquier Co, VA and then, in 1785, moved to Harrison Co, VA
Mary Ann Heath CARROLL 1766-1846 m 1784 Benjamin BARTLETT (son of Thomas c1730 & Pvt in RevWar); and they, too, moved to Harrison Co, VA in 1785.
Cynthia CARROLL 1744-1852 m 1793 William HAYMOND, Jr. His sister Susannah HAYMOND 1780-1828 m 1797 Robert BARTLETT, son of Thomas 1730, and I believe they died in New Madrid, MO.
I, too, would like to see the children of William Porter CARROLL posted - or any information about where he went.
Thanks again for your post.
Jim Bartlett

Did little poking around at Library of Virginia, in one of the probated wills in Loudoun is listed both a William Porter Carroll and a William Porter from each of the respective families. Granted the families were close, but not seeing why William Porter Carroll would drop his surname in public records.
Still digging for William Porter Carroll's kids names.

I am looking for descendants of James and (Mary) Agnes Carroll - brother and sister-in-law of my great-grandfather Joseph P Carroll. They were also brother/sister-in-law to John J Carroll, Charles F J Carroll, and Mary Carroll. They were married in Baltimore circa 1900-1902. From what I can tell they had at least 7 children. Their names were Charles, Dorothy, James, Theresa, Agnes, Margaret, and Genevieve. They lived on South Schroeder St. in West Baltimore until they moved to Collins St. in Irvington sometime in the 1920's. The children were all born between about 1902 and 1918. One of their sons, known as "Hossie", remained in the Irvington area, probably for the rest of his life. I am looking for any information or photographs that may still exist of my great-grandfather and his siblings/family.

Hi Ken,
I don't really know anything about the people you are looking for information about, and I have just realized how big the Carroll family seams to be. I am looking for info about Vernon Madden Carroll and Hazel Margret Carroll born Fuller as far as I know both were from North Carolina and are my Parents. maybe we might find family line. maybe not. But Iam about to loose it if I don't find some thing soon. Please answer even if you know nothing of my search.
Dawna

I am looking for more information on the following:
James Carroll born abt. 1843 Maine, married to Barbara Ann Towle (born 1843 Maine).
James Carroll and Barbara had the following children:
Ira G. Carroll (born 1865 Wisconsin)
Maggie Carroll (born 1870 Wisconsin)
Bertha M Carroll (born 1876 South Dakota)
George Allison Carroll (born 1879 South Dakota)
I've traced some of these children to Minneapolis, Minnesota but the trail goes cold. I would love to get in touch with living descendants as I am a cousin via Barbara Ann Towle.
