Hello - I don't know if my other post to you went through. My Great Great Grandmother was Johanna Hartigan. She was married to John Carroll. Their daughter, Mary[Marie] Carroll, was my great grandmother. She may have had a brother, Michael. She married John Taylor in Adelaide, SA and they had three children in SA and another in New York City. I think that the family was from County Clare, Ireland , then South Australia and New York. Hope to hear from you, Bunny

My cousin, Ruth Craven, and I have been trying to locate our great grandfather's family. Sampson (b. abt 1818 in NC) and Millie Hocutt Carroll (b. abt 1825 in NC) were senior citizens in Bay Creek, Gwinnett Co., GA in the 1880 census. (Name was spelled Carrell.) They were married in Newton Co. GA on 3 Oct 1841. He served in the 2nd Regiment GA Reserves in the Confederacy. There children included:
Francis (M) b. 1843
John (M) b. 1844
Alonzo (M) b. 1846
Selestia (Celestia) (F) b. 1850, m. J.H. Wilson 1879
Early Jim (M) b. 23 Apr 1854,d. 14 Apr 1925,m. Mary Jane Graham (Our Grandparents)
Rebecca (F) b. 1855, m. W. L. Langley 1875
Sarah (F) b. 12 Nov 1861, d. 9 Dec 1964, never married
We have not found any Carroll in Gwinnett Co. GA in the 1840's but there were three in Newton Co., James B., Jesse, and Redmond. Could one of these have been Sampson's father? In the 1830's there were two George Carroll's in Gwinnett Co. and three Carroll's in Newton, Eller, Hirling and Jose. If Sampson was born in NC, the family was probably there in earlier census reports. Any help that anyone can give us would be appreciated. We have recently retired and started looking for our ancesters but success has been slow.
Thank you, Faye C. Wisenbaker

Need marriage/death information on Henry P Carroll, born 1861 and his sister, Mary E Carroll, born 1869. They are on the 1880 Census of Carroll County MS as children of Augustus C and Rachel McGill Carroll.
Augustus nad Rachel and younger son Robert E Lee Carroll moved to Limestone County TX by the 1900 census but apparantly Henry and Mary stayed behind in MS.
ANY help appreciated

I am trying to find information on Daniel CARROLL who was born in Ireland but found his way to Harford Co., Md. by about 1850. He wrote his will, dated 24 Sept. 1870, in Harford Co. He was buried 1 Oct. 1870 at St. John's, Long Green, Balto. Co.
In his will Daniel Carroll names his brother, James Carroll, as executor. He leaves to his nephew, Daniel Carroll son of James, his house and lot in the Town of Bel Air to be equally divided among the heirs, James Carroll, John Carroll, Elen Develine, Bridget Whalland, Mary Connaughton and Margaret Carroll.
I was able to find information on an Ellen Carroll born abt. 1836 and died 1874 who married James Devlin in Harford Co. in 1859. Mary born abt. 1820 married L. Connaughton and Bridget Carroll married 1854 in Harford Co. to Michael Whalen.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for information re: Mildred (McCarron) Carroll, 1901-1977. I know she married William Leo Carroll and had 2 children. I also know she had a brother (or half-brother) named William Browne. I believe Mildred's father was William McCarron and I'm trying to verify this. I can find Mildred on the 1910 census living with William's sister Rose Hennigan. I don't know what happened to William--did he die or did he and Mildred's mother divorce. Any information appreciated.

Has anybody heard the story of Benjamin Carrol, of Olney, Buckinghamshire, England. A publican in the town had a News Years custom of offering charitable dinners to the old men of the town. According to the local paper,"Croydon's Weekly Standard" on Jan 4 1862, one of the old men benefiting from his largesse was a BENJAMIN CARROL, aged 76, and the article refered to him, intriguingly, as "being the son of the seventh wife of his father". Benjamin was born in Olney but I don't know specifically who his father was.
However, there are seven parish record entries for marriages of "John Carrol"(the surname being spelled with some variation) in the eighteenth century. They were as follows; 1735-Elizabeth Swain, bur 1737; 1738-Mary Abraham, bur ?; 1743-Mary Martimore, bur 1750; 1751-Sarah Fisher, bur 1751 or 1761; 1761-Martha Standish, bur ?; 1783-Anna Maria Wheatley, bur 1785. There is also a burial for a John Carrol in 1787.
Could all these marriage have been contracted by the same John Carrol? There are in fact four baptismal entries which could tie up with these marriages, all "John son of John" - viz, in 1699, 1713, 1717, 1736 - and just one burial of a "John son of John" - in 1715.
If anybody has any information, or any thoughts about this "lurv-machine" I'd love to hear from them!
(I've also posted this on the CARROL page.)

I don't have any information on John Carroll. But he could have been
married 7 times. My GG Grandfather was married 7 or 8 times, so I know that
it's possible.
