I know Thomas Paul Carroll was born 23 Mar 1883 in St Louis MO, died 2 Feb 1967 in Tarrant County, TX. Married Teresa Pierceall.
What I am trying to figure out is his parents names. From the 1920 and 1930 census that I found him in, he was living in the Fort Worth, TX area, and his father was born in Ireland, and his mother in England.

My godmother was listed as Ida Mae McGuiness who was a Nursing Supervisor at the time for the hospital.
Thanks.

I am seeking my g. grandfather Francis D. Carroll. He was last known to be in Omaha Nebraska at 319 [or 321] South 15th Street in October 1886 when he was served there with divorce papers from Cook County IL, wjere his wife Elizabeth Durnford Skinner was suing for divorce.
Francis D. Carrol was born cir 1858 in Syracuse NY of parents Francis Edward Carroll and Carolyn Louise Goldsmith. He married Elizabeth D. Skinner of Auburn NY 23 Jul 1879 and they had one son, Edward Skinner Carroll born 7 Jun 1880. Francis [possibly known as Frank] Carroll was trained as a clerk and possibly a gasfitter (family business) but was a drunkard and later a traveling salesman. He moved to Nebraska, and was there when his wife moved to Chicago, divorced him in 1887, and remarried her deceased sister Alice Skinner's widower Charles Jernegan. One 1910 secondary source reported that Francis D. Carroll was [living] in Oklahoma cir 1910 (probably elying on information from his father or his family in Syracuse).
I cannot find wht became of Francis D. Carroll. I would not be surprised if he did not start a second family in NE or OK. If anyone knows what bcame of him, I have earlier ancestry information and a photograph to share. Thank you

Larry,
I agree with Eric that the more markers that match the better the
probability that two individuals shared a common ancestor. However, I
think it rare indeed that he found a relative based on a12/12 match.
The report from FamilyTreeDNA that he matched another person 12/12
didn't mean they were related, it only gave him a person to contact.
Then they established the relatedness based on the genealogy paper
trail.
My cousin, for whom I serve as contact person, has 12/12 matches with
165 men. I have not tried to contact all these men as potential
relatives, because I know that they probably do not share a common
ancestor with my cousin unless they match on more than 12 markers. It
does tell me that most likely they all came from the same geographical
area.
My cousin matches 54 men on at least 23 out of 25 markers. Again, I
do not believe that is enough to indicate they are related.
There are 7 men who match my cousin on at least 35 of 37 markers. So
far we have established that he is probably related to four of those 7
men, and I hope to establish more. These men were not acquainted with
each other prior to sending the DNA sample, so DNA is a very valuable
tool in genealogy.
Since the CARROLL project is through FamilyTreeDNA, I think the best
place to learn of the probabilities for relatedness is at their
website. Go to
http://www.familytreedna.com/dna101.html
Click on each link on the left, but especially "Understanding
37-Marker Matches"
Personally, I would not say that DNA proves that you shared a common
ancestor with another person with anything less than 35/37 markers. I
really believe that all 67 alleles should be plotted, but so far there
aren't many records with which to compare 67. I think there will be
more as time goes on.

: Dear Larry,
:

matches
: the better the chances are. I found a second cousin with only 12/12

Without the

I'm looking for information on the above individual. He is my great-grandfather and not much is known about him. He was a granite cutter who lived in Baltimore and was working on the B&O building when he was killed by a falling stone on 10/20/1905. We know his first name and that he left behind a pregnant wife, mother, brothers (don't know how many), and a sister. My grandfather, unborn at the time, was his only child. Anyone who has come across this man or members of his family in their research, please let me know what you have found.
