Im also looking for Carrolls in Coosa Co Alabama.
The first set show up in 1850 Hatchet Creek Coosa Co
James b. 1798 in South Carolina
Cynthia/Cintha b. btw. 1810-1814 in Georgia
Ellenor/Ellen b. abt 1838 in Georgia
Delilah b. abt 1846 in Georgia
Henry b. abt 1849 in Georgia
Nancy
then a little further down the page
Leonard Carroll b. 1 in South Carolina
Green Carrol b. 1817 in Georgia (Blind)
In 1860 Leonard died and I find the others from the first listing still in Coosa County but living in Rockford. Minus Nancy who must have married.
James is deceased by 1870 I cant find his wife or two daughter, Ellen and Delilah. Son Henry married Mary J ELLIS 16 December 1860 in Autauga Co.and by the census of 1870 have a daughter A.C Carroll.
1880 Henry and his family are living with his mother Cynthia and two unmarried sister Ellen and Delilah and we learn the daughter's name was Amy.
Im really trying to go forward to go backwards because I am trying to link Leonard Carroll and James Carroll to my 5x great grandfather Leonard Carroll who had a son (my 4x great grandfather Samuel) who moved to the Ohio boarder area of West Virginia in the 1820s. If you or anyone know anything about these people please let me know. Thanks!

Looking for info on the WILLIAM CARROLL PLACE ?
>From the book " Carlton and Related Families"
is the following information.
The first of the Carltons known in Duplin was John Carlton and Thomas Carlton, who owned land in said county before 1790.
Thomas Carlton died in 1795, and left a will recorded in Duplin county.
He lived on the east side of Murrows or Pattys Branch, on the road leading from Magnolia to Carltons Chapel, at what was known as the WILLIAM CARROLL PLACE, and later owned by M.N.Johnson. He also owned land adjoining the Beasley Mill Pond, and he is probably buried on the CARROLL tract of land...
My question is who was this WILLIAM CARROLL?
Any help would be appreciated..

Researching: Carroll, Hollingsworth, Carlton, Fryar, Chesnutt, Gregory and related families in North Carolina..
I have followed with great interest the discussions on the various
Carroll/Carrell lines. I'm not new to genealogy, however I am new to
searching this line. The information I have was given to me by a distant
cousin who has been researching this line for some time.
The farthest back we are able to go is to a Luke Carroll/Carrell b. 174? in
VA., wife's name was Anne. They had a son, Luke, b. 1772 (in VA per 1850
Meigs Co, TN US Census), married to Elizabeth Murphy, 25 Jan 1792 in Dawson,
County, NC according to their marriage bond and NC Marriage Index. I have a
copy of their marriage bond.
They had 10 children:
Thomas M. b. ca. 1801
John, b. ca. 1803
Nathaniel, b. ca. 1806
Olive, b. 31 May 1807, Washinton, TN
Eliza, b. 1808, TN, married 24 Nov. to Wm. Lockmiller in Rhea Co., TN ( Rhea
Co. TN Marriage Record)
Mary, b. ca. 1810
George, b. ca. 1812
Patsy Ellen, b. ca. 1814
Alfred, b. Jan. 1814 or 1804 in NC
Ann, b. ca. 1816
Luke Carroll/Carrell Sr. is listed in the Historical Register of Virginians
in the Revolution, soldiers, sailors, and marines, 1775-1783
Ed. by John H. Gwathmey
Richmond, VA. 1938
I'd like to find where Luke Carroll/Carrell, Sr. came from and if there were
any other children besides Luke, Jr. and how he ties in to the other
Carroll/Carrell families. I would appreciate any help. Thanks so much in
advance.

Daughter, Lula married George T Carroll in Haralson Co and lived there thru the 1930 Census. Can anyone help me find Susan's maiden name and Pink's Parents. Any information would be appreciated. I am wondering if anyone has information on Susan Clark, who married Zachariah Carroll on Sept 21 1842 in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. They had about 7 children, maybe more, my cousins Jimmie descends from this family and is looking to correspond with descendants of this family. We find them in Bienville Parish in 1850 and then in Rapides Parish in 1860, one of the younger daughters Amanda moved to Texas and married James Pierce Wood.
