Hi,
I am looking for any kind of info on the Carroll families that lived in Pendleton, SC in 1800 and in Edgefield in 1810 inparticular Leonard, James, John and Sterling. I believe one of these men, hard to tell their ages in ten year increments, had a daughter named Delilah about 1770-1775 in South Carolina. Delilah was my ancestor and I am stumped by lack of info, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Audrey

My James' parents were James Mangan(1839-1898) and Catherine Gallagher. It seems it isn't the same family. Although James and Francis could have been related. Do you know who Francis' siblings were? My cousin didn't send me info. on who James(1839) siblings or parents were but I will write to him to see if he knows.

The only Mangon that I've come across is Thomas Mangan, who was one of the two godparents of Thomas Gaviken (also spelled Gavican), on June 2, 1822, at St. Joseph's Church in Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. The other godparent was Maria Elliot. The baby's parents were Elizabeth (Beirne) and Thomas Gaviken. I thought I'd send along the information just in case... My CARROLL family emigrated from Ireland to N.Y., I believe, but ended up living in Providence, RI. Elizabeth CARROLL married Bernard McElroy in Providence on 9/28/1847. Both had been born in Ireland.

Is it possible our ancestors may have been related?
My husband's great-grandfather was also Lloyd Rigdon Carroll. The 1850 census shows Lloyd Rigdon born about 1830 in N.C. or Tenn. He was married to Charlotte Chapman. I wonder if this connects to your grandfather Lloyd Rigdon Carroll. I wonder if Charlotte may have been 2nd wife of Lloyd Rigdon. Do you have any record of that? I've reached a deadend on this line. Apparently, Lloyd Ridgon's father was Stanley Carroll, born 1804 (according to 1850 census records).
Your information says he fathered two children, but I'm showing he fathered an Issac Wilson Carroll on 1 Jan 1859 in Harrison, AR, Boone Co. Issac died Oct. 14, 1929 in Greenville, AR, Wash. Col, at age 70.
The 1850 census for Mountain (could be Mountainburg, which now appears to be Crawford county), Washington County, Arkansas, lists my family name of Stanly (this is the spelling) and indicates that Stanly was born in North Carolina, along with his daughter Lucinda, and sons Rigdon and Merrill. His son Stanly and daughter Penina were born in Tennessee.
I'm looking for research in Washington county, Arkansas for the Stanly (or Stanley) Carroll line. We have visited the Rigdon Carroll tombstone in a cemetery in Boone County (Greenland), Arkansas. Our records show he was born in North Carolina, but spent most of his life in Washington County and southwest Missouri. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. If you need additional data, please let me know.

I am trying to find information on Daniel Carroll who was born in Ireland and came to Harford County, MD., where he died in 1870.
There are several people named in his will; James Carroll, executor , Daniel Carroll, nephew and son of James, James Carroll, John Carroll, Elen Develine, Bridget Whalland, Mary Connaughton and Margaret Carroll. (names spelled as in will).
Could they be daughters ? If nieces, there has to be another brother besides James because he didn't have daughters.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
