I am fairly sure we are tied in.
James O-Carroll was born in 1765 Prov. of Sisters,
Armagh, Armagh, Nothern Ireland and died in 1792 St.
Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. He was married to
Margaret Pottle. His Father, Patrick O'Carroll, was
born in 1741.
James O-Carroll/Carroll's son was Patrick Carroll (1789-1860)
I find a good way to hunt down family is to enter the full name in "" in google.com Of course the less name you put in the more information comes up that you have to sort through.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Kent B. Carroll

Bonnie;
I believe this Sanford B CARROLL was the son of Dempsey "Denny" Porter CARROLL 1776-1856 and Sarah BARKLEY c1780-1849. Dempsey was son of Sanford CARROLL and Elizabeth BARTLETT; Sarah was dau of William BARKLEY and Sarah STEPHENS.
Dempsey and Sarah were married in Harrison Co, VA 11 Dec 1800 and they lived in Harrison Co, VA until 1830 (they were in Harrison 1810, 20 and 30 census), and then moved to Clinton Co, OH. Sanford's siblings: William, Uriah, Olive (m Samuel SHINN), and Stephen also moved to Clinton Co, OH - in 1840 there was also a John D CARROLL in the Clinton Co, OH census (he age 40-50), but I don't know if he ties in.
Sanford B CARROLL married Hirrilda BARKLEY 20 May 1825 in Harrison Co, VA, and she apparently died in the 1830s (and then Sanford 2m Keziah BORING). I believe the "B" was for Bartlett: for his grandfather, Sanford CARROLL and his grandmother, Elizabeth BARTLETT, and perhaps, his grand uncle: Sanford BARTLETT (a much younger half- brother to Elizabeth)
I would like to know more about Sanford B CARROLL's descendants.

Also very interested in William HAMMOND's sister, Susannah, who married Robert BARTLETT in 1797. I show them in Harrison Co, VA up to 1809, and have a note that Susannah died 1828 in New Madrid, MO - do you have any info on them?

Hello! I've come to a dead-end in my genealogy search. If anyone has any information about this person or her relatives, I would greatly appreciate it! I am seeking information on my great-grandmother Mary Ann Carroll. This is what I know so far:
She was born in Newfoundland in 1886 or 1888 (different records suggest different years). Not sure on death date.
She came to the US (Boston, I think) in 1905.
She married my great-grandfather Mark Peddle (1881-1953) (also of NFLD- parents listed as Joseph Peddle and Margaret Mahony on marriage certificate) in Boston in January 1909. They lived in Bridgeport, CT.
What I don't know:
I don't know where she is from- in a 1939 immigration record Mary is recorded as the person signing for Johanna Carroll arriving from Brigus, Newfoundland (born in 1918). Johanna lists Mary as her Aunt-- but I think that is not accurate (see next paragraph!)
I don't know who her parents are. I have heard that she was born out of wedlock (mother a Carroll, father a Foley) and then raised by other family members (John Carroll and Bridget Carroll are listed as her parents on her marriage certificate).
An interesting fact is that a John and Bridget Carroll of NFDL have a child named Johanna born in 1918- so I thought perhaps Mary might have been raised by her aunt and uncle? Here is the info on the John, Bridget, and Johanna Carroll I found in a 1921 Port de Grave census:
CARROLL; John M Head m 1869 Jan 52 Foley's Hill
CARROLL; Bridget F Wife m 1876 Nov 44 Foley's Hill
CARROLL; Mary F Dau si 1911 Aug 10 Foley's Hill
CARROLL; Joseph M Son si 1913 Mar 8 Foley's Hill
CARROLL; Patrick M Son si 1916 May 5 Foley's Hill
CARROLL; Johanna M Son si 1918 Mar 3 Foley's Hill
If any of this rings a bell for somebody, please e-mail me! MeaganLArt(a)yahoo.com
Thanks!

Hello,
I am posting to the CARROLL message board, hoping to connect with anyone who might be related to or know the family history of Julius CARROLL and his wife, Julia E. WARREN.
Julia Warren CARROLL's brother was my gg-grandfather. He was John M. WARREN, b. 1847, MO and d. 1913, St. Louis, MO. John M. WARREN was married first to Viola HANEY in 1877 and Viola died in 1879. John M. WARREN then married Anna BETTS in 1886 in Sherman County, Nebraska (though John and Anna lived in St. Louis, Missouri)
John and Viola had one daughter, Julia Aimee Warren, who lived with her grandmother, Sarah (Kountz) HANEY in Loup City, Sherman County, Nebraska. John and Anna had three daughters that I know of. They were Grace Warren, b. abt 1 Mar 1888 and Lulu May Warren, b. 24 Feb 1890 and Altazoe Warren, b. July 1892. Grace Warren married Richard B. JORDAN; Lulu married Edmund ROTERMUND, and I don't know about Altazoe.
Most members of this family (John, Anna, Grace, Richard, Altazoe, and others) are buried at Bellefountaine Cemetery in St. Louis.
Back to Julia Warren and her husband Julius CARROLL, I think I found them in the 1920 U.S. Census in Galena, Jasper County, Missouri census, but found it quite difficult to read their children's names. When Julia's mother, Mary Ann (TRAINOR) WARREN, died in 1917, Julia and Julius CARROLL lived at 5346 Labadie Avenue in St. Louis.
I am pretty much at a standstill with this WARREN - CARROLL connection. Any suggestons are welcome. Thank you.
Laura

Joanne,
I just wanted to let you know that I was able to locate a marriage record for Bonnie June Carroll. She married Alwin E. Winnen in 1947 when she was 19 and he 28. I think that in the past five years he passed away. This will be useful information in trying to locate her, however I don't know if she remained married or not. If your brothers are able to help that would be nice. Thanks.
