I am searching for an A.E. Carroll (Ann Elizabeth) born 1836 S.C. Married a Swartz.in or near Arkansas. May have been a second marriage.
Married a Camp after Swartz's death. Married Camp in Webster Parrish, La. in 1871.
Lived some years in Bossier Parrish La. Then moved to Ouachita Co. Arkansas. Was on the 1880 census there. She died in 1892.
She may have had a brother or father or uncle named Joseph Carroll or she may have had a male relative named Dennis Carroll.
Absolute dead end on this. Any clue would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. This is different than what I have. When I first started with this line, my m-i-l said that her grandfather was Joe Andro Carroll. When I sent for the death cert, there was none found. So on a whim, I put her name in at Ancestry. Starting with my m-i-l, this is what Ancestry says: Claudia Jo Alexander>Jo Mildred Carroll>Joseph Angelo Carroll>Samuel Houston Carroll>William C. Carroll>Richard Carroll. The submitter didn't leave their name, so I don't know who to contact. I don't know how much of this is correct. I did find a Joseph Carroll in the 1910 census in Missouri, listed as a lodger and working as a hotel cook. I see that Annie Belle is from MO, so maybe that's the right one. I don't know for sure. Hopefully it won't be too hard to figure this out.

There is one Samuel Houston Carroll at the following website. I disagree with Rick Ralls background of Dempsey Carroll born 1762. I cannot say if his family for Noah Carroll is accurate or not, but I believe it is. One of his sons is Samuel Houston Carroll, but he died before the birth of your Joseph Angelo Carroll.

Brandi,
I think we might have talked before; is this the Nancy Jane Carroll who was the daughter of Gray M. Carroll and Winnifred Jones; had three siblings: Algernon, Richard E. and a sister (I haven't found her yet)?
