I have an old photograph of "Clifton Carroll, son of Sarah Thurston Carroll, 1890s". Clifton looks to be about 10 or 12 years old in this photo. The photo was taken at "Fred D. Brown Studio in Hudson, Mich."
Some nuggets I came across in some SC books:

I have a Marie Carroll in my family! Her father was James Carroll and mother's name was Emma. Children were Marie, Catherine, Earl. I think that there were more children, I just don't know their names. James was a brother to my grandmother Elizabeth Carroll, whose father was Jeremiah Carroll. Any connection?

I am still looking for Samuel Patrick Carroll who married Laura.
I do have some new information, though.
He was born October 8, 1866 in the state of New York, and died November 11, 1940 unknown location, but could have been southern Illinois. Still not sure of Laura's full name, she died January 26, 1963 in Gary, Lake co., IN and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart, Lake co., Indiana.
I also recently found out that in 1900 Samuel Patrick, who apparently went by Patrick Carroll, was listed as a boarder, in Oshkosh, Winnebago Co., WI - and was a day laborer.
His daughter Lanore was born October 23, 1904 in Hilbert, Calumet Co., WI. So he was married before then.
Winnebago County and Calumet County are separated by Lake Winnebago. Oshkosh on the shores and Hilbert just about 7 miles from the lake.
Ring any bells with anyone?
Thanks.

Looking for information on James Carroll, his three marriages and his daughter Annie.
James was born in co. Wexford Ireland and came to America by early 1850. His first wife was Bridget Hayes who died in 1856. She was the mother of children James, John, Michael, Patrick and Daniel. James' second wife was Rose/Rosetta Carroll who died in 1879. Wife number three is a mystery. James' obituary says "his wife and young daughter, Miss Annie survive him".
I believe the daughter, Annie, is from this third marriage. She may have married an unknown Cottingham. Any information on Annie and the mystery third wife of James would greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find information about my ancestor, Michael Carroll from Co. Kilkenny. He was born in the early 1800s and emigrated to Allegheny Co., PA circa 1854 with his wife Johanna Lucas and their oldest daughter Annie. They had 9 more children who were born in PA. Could this Michael be a cousin to your Michael Carroll from Co. Kilkenny? Any information you may have on the Carrolls of Co. Kilkenny would be welcome! Thanks.

Just a hunch, but regarding your Catherine Dunn with mother Mary, she may be related to the Dunnes from Kilmeague, County Kildare, Ireland. There was an area on the Grand Canal that was named Dunnestown. Most of them moved to New York starting in the 1840's. If you are interested in pursuing this, I do have more information. My mother, from New York, is a Dunn from this family.
Hi Everyone,
I am new to your list and of course I am interested in the name Carroll.
I live in Australia, but I was born in St Helens Lanc's.
I emigrated in 1972 with my husband and 6 children, like so many of our ancestors looking for better jobs.
I am finding it so hard to trace my Carroll family back, my Richard Carroll was born approx 1837 he says in Eastham Cheshire. I have a Certificate of a Richard Carroll born in Wirral for Birkenhead. I really do not know if this is the same.
His Father was Henry Carroll and the only one I can find, died in 1846.
He did leave an Admon, it names a Bridget Carroll, but we have no name of Bridget in any of our family lines.
There was no information in the Admon at all only 80 pounds in money left to her, nothing of where they came from.
Please can I ask, is there anyone researching this family, because I could use some help please.
by the way, I cannot find them on the 1841 census, mine is very bad in parts that you cannot read the writing.
I do have Richard in 1881, and he says he was born in Eastham. He also was a Mariner, would there be any records for those?
Thank you for this, my very best wishes.
Pat.

David was born abt.1857 in Montgomery County. He married a woman named Erodie. After she passed away, he remarried Callie Amanda Stipson. They are found together in the 1910 census in Salem, Roanoke, Va.
wow I am very impressed Mr Denning!!!
This is all I have:
Mom was Nancy Patricia Carroll (Keating) and her dad, Grandpa was Ronald J
Carrol, b. 1904, he had 2 brothers, William H. and John P Jr. They were in
Dorchester MA with their Dad Ronald P. Sr who was a US Customs Agent and
mother Margaret in 1930. Grandpa did say he grew up in Chelsea!!!
Ronald P. Sr. was born approx 1880 and Margaret was (shhhh) older than him
by about 5 years. Can't get to her maiden name. The whole lot of them
came down from Nova Scotia, and before that Ronald Sr hailed from Co Cork
Ireland. Earlier census data lists him as (I believe if I can decipher
the writing) able bodied seaman.
I had paid access for the trial version of ancestry.com however ouch, they
socked me for $150.00 off the bat on my card which kind of got me nervous
so I backed off of that and will try to get at the info in other ways.

Hello, my husband's ggrandfather Thomas/Simon /Carrell came to Bradley co.Tenn, sometime in the mid 1800's.My husband's grandfather Andrew Jackson Carrell/Carroll was born in Bradleiy Co. in 1845. Some Documents say he was born in Tenn.and others said Ga. Possibly these 2 states border each other.
They came to Illinis from Tenn.or Ga. and settled in Perry or Washington Co. Andrew had property in Perry Co.
We cannot find anything on Thomas Except he cames to Penn. married and then went to Tenn.We come to a dead in at Thomas. We did find that Andrew was buried a Pleasant HIll Cem. in Essex Mo. and found his brothers grandson in Ill. 15 miles from where we live.
