Dear Janis, My grandfather was Lloyd Willmschen and his father was Arthur Willmschen who married Essie Sargent. I could use some help, I do have all of my grandfathers' pictures of his family when they were young. I do know that in the 1930 census in Washington the family of Arthur was listed. The following was listed: Arthur 41, Essie 36, Lloyd 18 (my grandfather), Boyd L. 16, Glen 14, Merle 12, Nina 11, Wilbern 9, Robert 7, Helen 4 and Irene 2. I was always told by my grandmother Dorothy Rose Duffy Willmschen (who is living in Covington, LA today) that I was just like Irene. I would be happy to get with you by e-mail, phone. etc to exchange information. I do need to get more information on Essie Sargent Willmschen. Thanks, Anna

I have just learned the month and year of my gggrandmother Catherine Carroll (September 1829) in Quebec.
Anyone have relatives there in that era?
She says on a later census that she immigrated in 1860 (as a MARTLEY) to Wisconsin. Any ideas if there would be records for that?
Sally,
in Oregon

If you are still there, my great great grandmother was one of Samuel's daughters. I'm not at home right now or I'd look at my files to tell you the parents I have of Samuel Denson Carroll. Do you have any information on the children and their spouses?Sarah Carroll was my relative but I haven't been able to locate the name of her two husbands.

I think your message did not all come through. If Sam Carroll was your relative, do you know who his children married? I've been trying to find out Sarah Carroll's husband (s) for a long time. We have assumed her first husband was an Alford and the second was my great grandfather's dad, a Tyler, but we could never find anything definite to show whether we were wrong or right. I know she had three children, John, Samuel Green and Clarky but they are all listed in the census of 1870 and 1880 as Tyler's. I think John may have been an Alford but Sarah never had a husband listed in the different census' and must have been married to both men between 1860 and 1870.

I found this family in the Monroe, Waxhaw, and surrounding areas of NC. Also J. Monroe and Lena are listed with their son Thomas in the Richburg, Chester County, SC area in the 1880 Census. I don't know why they were there. Maybe John(b. 1854) was working there? He is listed as a machinist. Caroline's father is Thomas Asa Taylor of Sandy Ridge Township, Union County, NC. They were in Lancaster County, SC by the 1900 Census. In 1896 John is listed as being the Proprietor of Cureton's Store. They seem to have had dealings with the A.W. Heath family and later the Massey's and Yoder's of Lancaster County, SC. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? I am tring to find the parents of John Monroe (also know as J.C., J. Monroe). A possible brother W.W. Carroll (B. 1859) m. Sarah lived in Monroe, NC. They had at least 2 children Edwin and Kate m. W.E.Pope.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cindy
Dear Sarah
I saw your message on the CARROLL Mailing List recently. I am searching for
information on a JESSE CARROLL who was born about 1829 in Georgia (according
to the 1860 Santa Rosa County, Florida Census). Could the JESSE CARROLL you
mentioned be the same one?
I am descended through JESSE CARROLL's son DANIEL CARROLL (born about 1852 in
Florida), through DANIEL'S daughter IDA R CARROLL (born about 1877 in
Florida), through IDA's son RUFUS "BILL" SUAREZ (Jr), through BILL's son HAROLD
AUGUSTUS "BOB" SUAREZ (my father).
Most of what I know of JESSE CARROLL and his family I found on census
reports:
1850 Santa Rosa County, Florida Census (Image 31, page 611, 340-340)
Jesse CARROLL 21 M W Laborer GA
Mary L 18 F W GA
George 2 M W FL
Mary 1/12 F W FL
.............................
1860 Santa Rosa County, Florida Census (Milton, page 703, 81-81)
Jesse CARROLL 31 M Laborer GA
Mary L 26 F GA
George 12 M FL
Ann? 11 F FL
William 9 M FL
David (Daniel) 8 M AL
Lenore 4 F FL
Caleph 1 M FL
If you have more information on the JAMES CARROLL AND JESSE CARROLL families,
perhaps I could use it to determine if this is truly "MY" JESSE CARROLL. Any
help you could furnish here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shannon Suarez Abbott
