My great-grandmother Delia Carroll and great-great-grandfather (who I believe was John Carroll) lived in Yonkers, NY. I'm still trying to uncover more about them.
Do you have any info on Carrolls from Yonkers? I would greatly appreciate anything you might have.

Looking for information on George and Lena Carroll. From what I could find so far, George's middle name may be M. and may have been born in Tn in 1858. He died 4 Jan 1941 in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co. Ind.
At that time his family was listed as LENA - wife, three daughters, MRS. JAS ROWLS, MRS GEO POWEL and MRS ALICE WEAVER all of Tn.
Two sons, F.T. of Tn and DEYER (or DEWEY) of Evansville.
Also have reason to believe that George's wife, Lena, may have been a second wife.
Thank you for any help

I am looking for the roots of Jeanette Carroll, she is my gggrandmother. She met Frederick Worth from Germany on the Boat coming to America. They were married sometime before 1854. They worked at Ft. Mackanac, at the big hotel in Michigian. They had a daughter, Lula, and a son, Charles E. born in MI. They eventually moved to Florida around 1857 and had another son Frederick W. I have the history forward from thereon. They were well educated people as Charles E. became the first Tax Assessor for Hillsborough Co., FL and Charles' son C. Edmund was an attorney, Judge and State Representative. I do have a good professional photo of Jeanette. I feel that she came over with family. Any leads would be appreciated.
Dear Family History Researchers,
I have reason to believe that at least some of subject surname families did
indeed generate family relationships via past marriages., and would like to
pass the following along to you., none of which is proven, to date, but may
provide some "Clues " to assist others in their research relating to these
surnames. Most of these " Clues " or possbilities have arisen during my
research during the course of my McIntyre/ Carroll
research efforts. My Aunt Jane McIntyre of Allegheny Co. Pa. married a Charles
Napoleon Carroll of West Virgina. His family being engaged in the oil
production of that state, later, the family relocated from West Virginia to
the oil fields of Santa Maria, Ca.. Wen Charles Napoleon died in Jan of 1944.
His Obits indicated that he was descendant from the Carrolls of Maryland, of
which, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, one of the Original Signers of our
Declaration of Independance, was of his line.
Charles Napoleon Carrolls father was Charles C. ( middle name unknown ) who
apparently was born in Ontario, Canada, as were his father and mother. Two
possiblities exist as to the origin of this family. (1 ) that theysettled In
canada by way of immgrating fromI Immgrating from Ireland some time past, or
, (2) that they made there way up into Ontario, Canada ffrom the states,
possibly from N.Y., N.J. or Pa..
It is estimated that at last 80 % of the early settlers of Ontario were from
this background.
Charles Napoleon Carroll's mother was Mary Ann Barr. She was . abt. 1840 in
upper state N. Y. There are strong indications that her parents were Joseph
Barr ,born in Ireland abt. 1805 and Sarah, ( maiden name unknown ) b. abt
1810, ,N.Y.
This Barr family apparently sometime around the 1840's left upper New York,
to resettled in Crawford Co., Pa.
Other found information to date, indicates tht Charles Napoleon Carroll's
father, Charles C. Carroll, came down into the states abt. 1861, most likely,
to join one of the New York Regiments to serve in our Civil War. After this
service, he made his way to Crawford Co., Pa. where he married Mar Ann Barr
at St. Titus R. C. Church, Titusville, Pa. on Nov. 19, 1865. the marriage was
performed by Rev. Napoleon Mignault of that church, and when the couples
first born son, Charles Napoleon was baptised in 1868, his middl;e name was
most likely given to honor Rev.Mignault.
The " Carl "surname usage of this " Carroll " family arises from finding that
at the time of the 1870 Census of Crawford Co., Pa. Charles C. Carroll was
listed on that census
using the " Carl " surname.Perhaps this was the French version of Carroll, (
I assume that it was.At that time hewas engagesd as a brick manufacturer
employing upward of some 25 employees. by the time of the 1880 census, usage
of the "Carl " surname changed to that of " Carroll ".
One could think that this dual usage of the "Carl"/ " Carroll " surnames was
simply a Census enumerating mistake with out additional findings, however,
earlier findings relating to records of the birthing of their children (
birthing Records of Dr.. George W. Barr ) indicate that the couple were
using the "Carl " surname prior to 1870.
Information found relating to this Dr. George W. Barr ( who, I believe was a
Uncle of Mry Ann Barr ) attest to the strong possibility of a prior family
reltionship of these
" Carl" / Carrolls of Ontario, Canada to the New York Barr families. George
W. Barr
was born DEcember 16, 1832 in Sherburne, Chenango Co. New York and was the
onl child of Charles W. and Almira ( Blineberry ) Barr, the former a natine
of Massachusetts, the later of Holland -Dutch extraction, born in
DutchessCounty, N. Y., residents at one time of Gowanda, N. Y. George W.
Barr, recieved a common school education, completing his education at the
Springfield Academy. He taught school for several years and then began
reading medicien with several doctors. at st. Mary's Lying in Hospital of
Buffalo, N.Y. and commenced the practice of medicienein 1856 at Gowanda, N.
Y. In 1861 he was assigned the duty of Examiining Surgeon of Gen. R.
B.Valkenburg's staff at Elmira, Mustering District. ad was commisiioned
Surgeon of the Sixty-Fourth New York Volunteers, Novenber 13, 1861. After the
Civil War, he relocated from Gowanda to Titusville, Crawford Co. Pa. in Feb.
1865 where he set up his pracice and deliver most of the new borns of that
area.
This researcher is of the opinion that He and Charles C. Carl/Carroll enjoyed
a family relationship, perhaps relocated to the Crawford Co. Pa area
together, and that Charles married his niece, Mary Ann Barr.
I am hoping that among the readers of this rather log narrative that Lura
Sullivan, of the Sullivan-Harnois family Tree data base and has mentions of
numerous Barr siurnames in her data basewill read this and perhaps contact
me. Apparently her e/mail address laura_Sullivan @ emal.com is no longer
valid. Any help that anyone can give me on contactin her would be greatly
appreciated. I can can contacted directly at vvcintyre(a)aol.com
Thanks fopr your patience. Kennet McIntyre,Victorville, Ca,

I'm looking for a John Carroll born in VA, maybe in the 1790's. He would have had a daughter, Rebecca b. abt 1820 NC. John's wife may have been named Rebecca also. John and his family may have gone to MS in the 1820's or 30's. This is just a hunch I'm working on and no info is fact yet. Thanks for your help.

My great-grandfather was William Henry Charters Sr. Do you have any information about who is parents were, where he was born, etc.
I'm putting this info up here for all to see - as Bill has a JESSE CARROLL b
ca 1778 NC.
I don't know of a connection to any of my CARROLLs, but remembering that
there is a WILLIAM CARRELL/CARROLL who has a Will in 1782 in Granville Co, NC
- with a son named JESSE who is specifically stated as not being "of age"
.....I'm wondering if this might be that JESSE......
Jackie, hope you catch this, I found it very interesting...... Wonder if
Floreeta monitors this list - I haven't heard anything from her in ages. Has
anyone else heard from her? I'm hoping she sees this also....
See his JESSE below in the 1850 Census, Dade Co. GA [this is in the NW
corner of GA}

Shannon, your JESSE CARROLL b ca 1829 in GA is interesting, as my
GGGG-Grandfather was a JESSE CARROLL b ca 1749/50, not sure if he was born in
NC but died 1801 NC. He & wife, MARY RACHEL (GAVIN) also had a son named
JESSE CARROLL, b 1774 mar MARGARET "PEGGY" MERRITT.
My line continues from GGGG-Grandfather JESSE CARROLL 1749/50- 1801 thru
another son, JOHN CARROLL 1770 NC - 1826 NC & 1st wife ELIZABETH
(HOLLINGSWORTH) thru their dau MARGARET (CARROLL) b 1799 NC - d bef 1862 GA
mar WILLIAM LAMB 1783 NC - 1862 GA [MARGARET (CARROLL) was 2nd wife of WM.
LAMB]
My GG-Grandmother MARGARET (CARROLL) LAMB also had a half brother, JESSE
CARROLL b 1803 mar MARGARET (CHESNUTT) & these also moved to GA along
w/MARGARET (CARROLL) LAMB & husb WILLIAM LAMB.
Another full bro of MARGARET (CARROLL) LAMB, named JAMES CARROLL b 1801 & w,
1st ELIZABETH CARROLL, dau of THOMAS CARROLL, mar 2nd MRS. SOPHRONIA E.
RANEAU of Thomas Co, GA.
Interesting that your name was the same - but this line of CARROLLs were not
down in GA until the late 1840's - Are you sure yours was born in GA?
hoping I haven't confused the issue for you......
