Does anyone have information on Green Carroll that lived in Coosa County, Alabama. He is listed in the 1850 census as living with Leonard Carroll and that he is blind. He perhaps was Green Carroll that married Mary Bishop.
I think he is brother to Jesse Willingham Carroll who lived in Coosa County, Alabama, at that time.

April,
Finally, someone who knows of these Carrolls. I knew there was a
connection to the Hunnicutts, but couldn't confirm it. I have a copy of
John Carroll's will - I believe I descend from son John but have been
unable to officially confirm. Please share what else you have or be
more specific about what you need. I'll see if I can help. I believe I
have these Carrolls back to the 1600s when they came to America. Look
forward to your reply.

My Carroll Family Bible is Lost...
Does anyone know where the Family Bible of James Henry Carroll and Elizabeth
Cross Carroll is? James was born in 1892. He died in 1987, Claude Carroll,
their son, had put the family bible and the possession of James and
Elizabeth's' in a Storage located in Bristol, TN or maybe Bristol, Va. maybe
sometime in 1985 Claude is deceased and we have no Idea which the bible was
stored in, the possessions were probably auctioned off..Would there be a
record of the Item's auctioned and to whom?
Written in the Bible should be their children's names: Margaret, Earl, John,
Claud, James, and twins that didn't live long Howard and Glen. Other names
may include, King, Cook, Hensley, Carden.
Anyone with any knowledge of The Bible or any possessions please contact me.
They were my Great Grandparents.
Hello everyone-
My name is Lesley Murphy, and I hope that someone might have information
that will break down the stubborn brick wall of my Carroll grandmother's
ancestry.
My grandmother Julia Carroll was born in the 1880's in England. Her father,
Michael Carroll was an official of the London Post Office, but was believed
to have been born and raised in Ireland. My grandmother's death certificate
lists her mother's maiden name as "Julia Fleming". My grandmother had two
brothers, Dan and Francis. And beyond this, we know nothing else.
I am especially interested since I was born after my grandmother died, so I
couldn't find this information for myself. And because I look exactly like
her!
Grateful for any help,
Lesley Murphy

My brickwall is my GGgrandfather, Newell Walton Carroll,
b 1816 in GA or TN. He married Nancy IRBY in 1841 in
Marshall Co., MS. The only child I'm sure of is Thomas Burpo
Carroll(I'm assuming one of his grandparents had the surname
Burpo). Other children may be R.M., Catherine, William H.,
Munroe, Fanny, Geems.
Any help on these Carrolls greatly appreciated.

Carrol,
I have neither an Edward or Thomas. However, I believe if you
will give some dates and the places that you know, it will give
others a better opportunity to help you. I am sure there are many
Thomas and Edward Carrolls, but unless we know which ones might
be of an interest to you, there might not be many Carroll
researchers who will type all their information to the list.
Also, I am interested in the spelling of your first name. Is
Carrol a family surname spelling? That is the spelling used on
the marriage bond of my Alexander in 1783 and also used for all
of the approximately 15 Carrol families living in Sampson County,
NC in the first census. Later the spellings changed to Carrell or
Carroll. I wonder if those early spellings are important, or if
they were just indicative of the educational background of the
clerk and census taker.
Good luck on finding your Thomas and Edward Carroll.
