Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
We, also, find the name WESLEY in our Carroll line. My wife's father was
named Wesley Amos Carroll (born in Benton Co, AR) and her great grandfather
was Thomas Wesley Carroll (b Nov 25, 1853 in Boone Co, AR). There must be a
reason but we have not found it.

Teresa, do you know if your Popes lived in Granville N.C. in late 1700's to
early 1800's? There are some Popes who are witnesses to deeds etc for my
Carroll and Moore lines. Thanks.

I am looking for the family of Elizabeth Ann Carroll that married
Anderson J. POPE - October 5, 1848 in Paulding Co., Dallas,
Georgia. They lived at Carroll Co., Villa Rica, Georgia before moving
to Cherokee & Dekalb Co.s, Alabama. She lived with her children at
Villa Rica, Ga. after Anderson J. POPE died in 1864 at a military
prison camp. I have no other information on her before this time. I do
have lots on the POPE line after their marriage. Any other CARROLL
researchers looking at this same area?
Thanks

William Carroll died in Augusta County in 1771. Four of his children, as I
have them recorded are, Jane, Joseph, Katherine, and Mary who married John
Alderson. Does this sound like your bunch?

Carolyn,
We have some reference material for Augusta County. If
you will be more specific with some given names and dates,
we will be glad to see what we can find.

Does anyone trace back to a Denis Carroll and Margaret Kennedy married in
Kildorrery, Cork, in 1813? Their older children, born before records were
kept, were most likely Denis, Ellen, and Peggy. V. Ann (the V. probably
standing for Veronica) was born about 1819. She is my great-grandmother. The
youngest four children were Edmond (1827), Catherine (1830), Mary (1832), and
Anthony (1837). All of Ann's siblings seem to have left Kildorrery in the
1800's. I haven't a clue where any went but would love to find descendants of
her siblings. Thank you. Jan
Folks:
Posts to this list are reaching everyone on the list, except one
member (jim.carroll(a)ancest.com.au). So there is no reason to post twice
-- just ignore the error messages.
Sorry for my own earlier double posting -- this confused me at first as
well.
The undeliverable mail messages received by recent posters to this list is
because a single user on the list has a bad email address. The pertinent
part of the error message is near the top:
"This message was addressed to a user that does not exist at this address.
Please verify the name and domain in the original message that follows.
The message was addressed to: jim.carroll(a)ancest.com.au"
The listowner can eliminate these error messages by deleting the incorrect
address from the list -- the rest of us can't do anything to change that.
So there's no reason to worry your posts are not getting through -- they
are.
Good luck with your researching,

I keep getting messages that my email to this list is undeliverable. I
don't get a copy that I send out but apparently it is getting to
everyone else because I just recieved a reply. If you recieved two
emails to the list from me a bit ago and I have repeated myself, please
forgive me.
Does anyone know what is going on that I can't recieve mail from the
list and recieve undeliverable notices? I have subscribed to the list
so that shouldn't be the problem. I hope this gets thru like my other
letters apparently did.

I don't know WHY it happens, but when I posted to the list last week, I got
the same server notice (undeliverable). But then I got replies on the list,
so it evidently gets to the list.

My Carrolls were from County Cork. The female names Veronica and Winifred
were two of the less common names. Is there anyone who has found these names

Hi, I'm looking for information concerning James Peyton and Bridget
(Beesy) Carroll, from Ballyglass, Bunnacranagh, near Curry, Co. Sligo
Ireland. James and Bridget were born circa 1851, probably in or around
Ballyglass.
They had at least 4 children:
Thomas (born December 1867)
Ellen (born September 1869)
Patrick (born December 1871)
and Mary (born January 1874 -- my great grandmother)
James' father was probably a James as well; his siblings included John,
Martin, and possible Roger.
Bridget's brothers include Michael & John.
Any information on these individuals or their relatives would be
appreciated.
