I am still hunting for the elusive William Andrew Carroll married to Pauline
Sellars(Sellers) of St Louis MO. They lived there in late 1800's and then
moved to Birmingham, AL. That is where my grandfather William Wesley was born
in 1915.
Any other MO Carroll's out there still?
Thanks, Shane Carroll
P.S. Does any one have the ability to look up marriage records in that state
at their hands?
I don't have a census siting on this Wiley, but there was a Wiley
Carroll (of Greene Co. Il.) bought land in Jersey County Illinois in
12/29/1835;12/2/39 , then Montgomery county, Illinois 1-18-1851
Jersey was part of Green Co. until 1839
There was also a Wiley Carroll who was in Sebastian Co. Ark in 1882.
Does anyone have access to records in southern Illinois
or possibly eastern Missouri? (This family could be
anywhere, but unless they got up one morning with an
urge to see Texas, which is a distinct possibility,
those are my two best guesses.)
If anyone can locate Wiley J. Carroll, age 22,
(born 1828 TN) in ANY 1850 census I would be most
grateful. If Wiley was married by this time, his wife would
have been either Amelia or Manerva. If he wasn't, the head
of household may have been Titus (and Sytha Jane) Fox.
Or might have been James Cheek, Wiley's uncle.
I also need the marriage record for Wiley J. Carroll to either
Amelia Pendley or Manerva Ann Mathis (or anyone else)
between 1845 and 1860.
By 1860, Wiley was married to Manerva Ann Mathis and
living in Butler County, KY, where they remained and are
buried.
Thanks much,
Jo Carroll
