Hello,
My husband is a Carroll, a Bill Carroll is his cousin.
The familly name was actually Carrell, or Carrel.
Through the years it got changed somehow.
The names you mentioned do not ring a bell.
We have come to a dead end, with Simon Thomas, or Thomas Simon Carrel who imigrated from
Ireland or Schotland in the late 1700 or early 1800.
His son was Andrew Jackson Carrel, or Carrell, but on his first wife's tomb stone, it
is Carroll.
AJC is my husband's grandfather whom he never met. AJ was born in 1845, My husband is
the grandson of his second wife. Lydia Brown. She was who was about 35 years younger than
she. His first wife died and he married Lydia who was 16 at the time. and AJ was 54. He
died at the age of 69 and she died at 42 leaving 6 children out who were distributed to
local families here in Souther Illinois.
If any of this information is helpful you may email
v_virnich@yahoo.com<mailto:v_virnich@yahoo.com> She is a cousin of my husband who
is doing research on the Carroll family.
Good Luck,
Iona Lampley Carroll

Subject: [CARROLL-DNA] Re: Roll Call
Hello List,
I am Bill Carroll and also a descendant of Philip. I am the contributor of the DNA.
Currently I am trying to follow-up on my maternal line. I can't get past my maternal
Great Grandparents, Richard Childress Jones and Vena Drusilla Cozart. Any help is
appreciated.
Regards,
Bill Carroll

Subject: Roll Call
Hello List,
Since Diana has resigned her list administrative duties here, I have volunteered to
assume the tasks of CARROLL-DNA list administrator. Perhaps the best way to start this
off is a roll call of our earliest known male CARROLL ancestor. Mine is Philip CARROLL or
CARREL, born about 1775 in Pennsylvania or Germany. Y-DNA test results for his male
CARROLL descendant indicates Y-DNA Haplogroup R1a.
