Hello, My husband's grandfather Andrew Jackson was born in 1845. His father Simmon
Thomas, or Thomas Simon lived and married in Penn. I don't know if he immigrated from
Scotland, Ireland. Perhaps HIS father immigrated from overseas. We just don't know.
We come to a dead end with Simon.
Thanks for the infor.
Iona Carroll

My Carrolls came to the U.S. around 1845. Michael Carroll and Johanna Lucas
(the descendant of a French Huguenot) were both born in Mooncoin, Co.
Kilkenny, Ireland. They emigrated circa 1854 and settled in Allegheny Co., PA.
They had nine children. None of the male children married or had children of
their own. I do not know if Michael Carroll had any brothers or male Carroll
cousins who came with him to PA. If he did, I hope that those descendants
will eventually sign up for the Carroll DNA study and contact me. Thank you.
