I should have looked a little closer. There was no Carroll born in
Massachusetts in about 1610. There was no anybody there, as even the
native indians had all been killed by smallpox or something similar,
introduced by Europeans somewhat earlier, who then left That's one of the
reasons the Pilgrims were able to survive - the land thereabouts was
deserted.
